Luke Saville has maintained his excellent form on the Australian Pro Tour with victory at the Mildura Grand Tennis International.

Saville beat fellow Australian Dane Propoggia 7-5 6-7(5) 6-0 to capture his second Pro Tour title from his past three events.

Last week he lifted the trophy in Port Pirie, the week after having made the final at the City of Onkaparinga Tennis International.

The win, which is expected to lift his ranking to around the 270-mark, is his first career title on grass.

Saville displayed strong fighting qualities throughout the week at Mildura Lawn Tennis Club, coming through in three sets in the second round against Simon Ede and gritting out a 7-5 3-6 7-6(12) victory over Alex Bolt in the quarterfinals.

In the women’s event, Alison Bai of the ACT enjoyed an impressive week, surging to the final before falling to Korean Su Jeong Jang.

Bai upset top seed Viktorija Rajicic in straight sets in the quarterfinals and Jess Moore in a three-set semifinal; in the decider, the second-seeded jang proved too solid in recording a 6-1 6-3 win.
