Sam Stosur and Casey Dellacqua will be in action this week at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia, the prestigious combined ATP/WTA red clay event in Rome.

The Australian pair have found themselves in the same section of the draw, with Stosur lining up against 15th seed Sabine Lisicki and Dellacqua opening against Magdalena Rybarikova of Slovakia.

Dellacqua takes her place in the main draw following two wins in qualifying, including a 6-1 6-1 romp over Argentina’s Paula Ormaechea in the final round.

Should Dellacqua get past Rybarikova in her opening main draw match, she’ll take on second seed Li Na.

Stosur, a finalist in Rome in 2011, comes into the tournament after an encouraging week in Madrid, where she recorded two impressive wins to reach the third round before falling to eventual champion Maria Sharapova.

Stosur last played Lisicki at Wimbledon in 2013, falling in three sets, although that result came on Lisicki’s favoured grass courts and not the slow European clay on which Stosur thrives.

Stosur and Dellacqua will both take to the courts of the Foro Italico on Monday.
