Tennis ACT would like to thank the 20 schools that were involved in ‘Tennis in Schools Month’ throughout March 2011. The aim of ‘Tennis in Schools Month’ was to showcase tennis in schools in the ACT as a fun, safe and social way for children to engage in physical activity, both inside of school hours and after school through coaching programs and clinics.
By using qualified Tennis Australia Hot Shots coaches from local clubs, Tennis ACT provided schools with a free taster session of our nationally recognised MLC Tennis Hot Shots program. MLC Tennis Hots Shots is Tennis Australia’s official starter program for children aged 5-12yrs old. The program uses modified courts and equipment to allow participants to obtain skills appropriate to their developmental needs and, most importantly, maximises enjoyment for all participants regardless of skill level.
A big thank you to Supabarn Supermarkets for supplying vouchers and show bags for the children so they had something to take away after their great experience with Hot Shots .
