Kaleen Tennis Club hosted its annual Open Day on the 17 of September, with over 40 people in turning out for the day.

Those in attendance were put through Canberra’s newest fitness craze, Cardio Tennis, by Kristine Richardson, who coaches at the centre.

For those who have always thought their serve was faster than Andy Roddick’s, a speed gun was provided to decide once and for all how fast they could actually serve.

New players came and went throughout the day, playing doubles and singles matches across the four courts at Kaleen, with the focus of the day on socialising and introducing people to the club.

ACT Club Coach of the Year and Kaleen Head Coach Nathan Price said he thoroughly enjoyed the day, and looked forward to seeing the new members down at the courts.

“It’s great to see some new adult faces down at the courts having a game. It seemed like everyone was having a great day socialising amongst each other and playing a few sets of tennis.  A couple of new members signed up on the day which is great for our club,” Price said.
