By: Edwin Smith

Following on from a successful open day, Melba tennis club has held a member’s fun day on Sunday 16 October.
The day was aimed at bringing members of the together for a fun and social hit-around.
Tennis ACT supplied the club with a speed guns so members could test how fast they could serve, and mini-nets to encourage longer rallies.
Apart from the tennis, there was also a raffle and a BBQ held on the day.
Head coach of the club Owen Peemoeller said it was a great chance for members to get together and socialise amongst each other.
“It was a brilliant day. It was great to see so many members and their families come down to the courts and enjoy some social tennis,” Peemoeller said.
“The best thing was there were a lot of adult members who brought their families with them, and the families ended up signing up for memberships at the end of the day.”
