The Australian Open men’s and women’s trophy made its way around Canberra last week, giving locals the chance to hold a piece of tennis history.

The trophy tour visited the Canberra Mint, Monash Primary School, Belwest Tennis Club and Weston Creek Tennis Club in its four day stay in the Nation’s Capital.

While at the mint, a special range of commemorative coins were unveiled to mark next year’s men’s singles event, which will be the 100th time it has been contested.

Tennis fans were able to hold and have their picture taken with the trophies at Belwest and Weston Creek.

A raffle was also held, with Harrison Collidge taking out first prize.
