25 May 2012 | Tennis ACT

On Wednesday 25th May, mpowerdome was host of the 2012 Lord’s Taverners Disability Multi Sport Day.

The aim of the day is to provide students living with a disability an opportunity to become active and involved in mainstream sports.

Tennis ACT was one of the local sporting organisations in attendance, along with Capital Football, Touch Football ACT, Raiders (ARL Development), Basketball ACT, Netball ACT, Cricket ACT and Sport Ability (mpowerdome). Approximately 250 primary and secondary school children with a disability were involved on the day rotating through the sports.

It was great to see the children feeling included, being active and having fun.

The event was hosted in partnership with ACTSPORT and Cricket ACT and local members of the ACT Legislative Assembly attended including Minister Andrew Barr and Minister Joy Burch.
