24 May 2013 | Tennis ACT

On Wednesday 22nd May, the Mpowerdome hosted the 2013 Lord’s Taverners Disability Multi Sport Day.

The aim of the day is to give students living with a disability or disadvantage the opportunity to become active and involved in mainstream sporting activities and recreational activities.

Tennis ACT was one of the many local sporting organisations in attendance, along with Capital Football, Touch Football ACT, Raiders (ARL Development), Special Olympics ACT, Netball ACT, Brumbies (ARU Development) and Cricket ACT. Approximately 230 primary and secondary school children with a disability were involved on the day rotating through different courts to have a go at all of the different sports and activities that were on offer.

The day was great success with all the children leaving the day with smiles on their faces after a day of feeling included, being active and having a great time playing many different sports.
