Good luck to the 2013 School Sports Tennis team who is set to compete in the 2013 Bruce Cup in Queensland which runs from the 19-26 October. The team has been selected following the ACT 12 and Under Schools Singles Event held at The Weston Tennis Courts in May. Players performing throughout this tournament were then invited to further selections with other Year 7 students who were eligible to represent the ACT. All 14 players have been heavily involved in tournaments around the region. Many recently successfully participated at a Wollongong Event, Canberra Junior Open and more recently at a tournament at Weston Creek.
“The team has trained together four times and have been working hard in preparation for this event.” Said Team Manager Tony Laudenbach
The Bruce Cup is conducted by School Sport Australia in partnership with Tennis Australia. This event has been played since 1938 and was first presented by Hon HA Bruce, MLA a former Minister of Education in Queensland.

The Bruce Cup is a national level event giving girls and boys 12/u to represent their state in this prestigious event as well as earning national ranking points.
