Lyneham ACT, Australia, 22 September 2015 | Tennis ACT

The Canberra Junior Open was held at the Canberra Tennis Centre from the 4th-6th of September.   Over 160 participants played in the Australian Ranking tournament, with Bronze junior tour points on offer.  A number of ACT players posted strong results in the event.

In the 16 Girls Singles, Annerly Poulos defeated top seed Hannah Matic in the final, only dropping one game.  She then combined with Taylah Lawless to take out the 16 girls doubles.  In the 16 Boys Singles, Zac Donaldson defeated fellow Canberran, Luke Sarris in the final.  The two then teamed up in the doubles to defeat Jack Fuller and Martin Dreyer.

Ashleigh Simes won the 14 Girls Singles defeating Hayla Rafei in a tight final 7-5, 6-1.  In the 14 Boys doubles, Sam Bisa and Jack Lyons made the final before going down to Alex Turner and Patrick Veron.  Alyssa Simoncini and India Schreiber won the 12 Girls Doubles.
