The Forrest Junior Open, part of the ANZ Junior Development Series was held on 4-5 August with over 100 participants taking part. Players had a great weekend of tennis competing in round robin singles and doubles events.
With 22 entrants, the 11/u boys was the largest event for the tournament. After going through the round robin stages undefeated, Julian Aytona won through to the final and edged out Harry Sincock in a tight match 4-3 to win his first ANZ JDS title.
“This is the first time winning the singles. I’m really happy. I want to win the doubles tomorrow,” Aytona said.
Aytona then combined with Oscar Andrews to finish runner-up in the doubles to Charlie and Tommy Camus.
