As part of the Apis Canberra International 2018, Kids Tennis Day will be held this Saturday 3 November. This free community event will be held at the Canberra Tennis Centre 9.00-11am.
There will be a host of activities for the kids with jumping castles, face painting, Enchanted Canberra’s Captain America and Anna from Frozen, Icon Water Mascots Hydration Girl and Drain Sheriff, plus loads of fun for kids of all ages.
The Australian Open trophies will also be on display with tennis fans having the chance to have pictures taken with them.
Our friends at Apis Group will be firing up the charity barbeque to raise much needed funds for their official charity partner, Menslink. Menslink CEO Martin Fisk said it was an important community event to raise awareness about their organisation.
“Menslink is a Canberra charity that for over sixteen years has been supporting young men and their (mostly single mum) families get through tough times with the least amount of harm to themselves and those around them. Unfortunately, we see so many young men adversely affected by family violence, bullying (at school, in the workplace and online), addictions (again increasingly online), mental health issues and even suicide”.
Fisk continued “Menslink provides free counselling, mentoring and education programs to thousands of Canberran guys every year – from as young as ten years of age right through to 25. Our aim is to help turn their lives around and show them how to become the fantastic adult men we know they can be”.
Make sure you bring some spare change and see the team from Apis Group who will be located under the Pavillion at the front Tennis World.
Don’t forget the first 100 kids (aged 12 and under) through the gates will receive a free ANZ Tennis Hot Shots racquets.
