Overnight the International Tennis Federation (ITF) announced it is taking the precautionary measure to postpone all ITF-owned and sanctioned events due to the global impact of COVID-19 until at least the week of Monday 20 April. This includes the ACT Claycourt International #1 & #2 that was scheduled to take place at the Canberra Tennis Centre from 16-29 March and the ITF Seniors ACT Open Seniors Tournament from 10-13 April.
“The ITF has made this decision in the interests of the health and safety of the players, officials, tournament staff, and spectators,” said Tennis ACT CEO, Kim Kachel.
“The ITF will be monitoring the situation closely over the coming weeks and we hope to see tennis return on the professional tours soon,” Kachel added.
