The Gap Health and Racquet Club coaches successfully organised a Shave for a Cure Fundraiser on 13th March.
Declan Pearce, Tennis Australia Junior Development Coach, was one of the Coaches at The Gap who shaved off his Luscious Locks to raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation.
Rainworth State School hosted the event and there were 150 people experienced:
With Declan leading the way by shaving his dreadlocks, around 10 coaches, and other staff got involved, some colouring their hair and others were waxed.
Declan aimed to raise at least $2000 for the Leukaemia Foundation, but is happy to report, that at last count, he had raised $3250 ($1400 of which came from the Fun Day). Donations are still being received.
The Metro Region congratulates The Gap Health and Racquet Club for organising such an event. It is great to see more people experiencing tennis and raising money for a good cause in the Metro Region.
