Ipswich Grammar has completed week 1 of an exciting 10 week Hot Shots Tennis in Schools program that aims to feed more kids into the school tennis program.
The Metro Community Tennis Officers attended week 1 to assist with the delivery of the program and also provide the teachers with some training so that they would be able to continue delivering the program for the next 9 weeks.
The class size was roughly 30 kids between the ages of 9 and 10. The class was ran as a mass format Hot Shots session using Hot Shots Red compression tennis balls and barrier tape to act as the net, which kept every student active and engaged.
There were some awesome rallies and all of the grade 3-4’s thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It will be great to see how much they have improved by week 10.
If you are a coach or a school who would like to get some tennis in schools up and running, contact your Metropolitan Community Tennis Officer at [email protected] or [email protected] or call us on (07) 3120 7900.
