Launched by radio personality Alan Jones and attended by former tennis greats John Newcombe, Wally Masur and Tony Roche, the new biography about Ken Rosewall delves into the life and career of one of our greatest tennis players.
In 1953 at the age of 19 Rosewall won the Australian Singles and Doubles, the French Singles and Doubles, the Wimbledon Doubles and represented Australia in the Davis Cup. On the court he fought against players like Rod Laver, Pancho Gonzales, Vic Sexias and Jimmy Connors to win 8 Grand Slam Singles titles. His career is also amazing in its longevity – Ken played top level tennis well into his 40’s.
Written by Richard Naughton, the book has already received a number of great reviews for its detail and incorporation of memories from Ken on some of his most dazzling and dissapointing moments. “The story of this man is one of the great sporting stories of the world, not just of this country. I cannot congratulate the writer enough because very few people take the time to dig into the bowels of history and the bowels of sport to reveal the kind of things that are in this book.” said Jones at the launch.
