The National Development Squads (NDS) represent a pinnacle in high-performance training across Australia’s capital cities. This program provides a structured training framework for athletes who meet entry criteria based on a criteria that includes Universal Tennis Rating (UTR), tournament results, rankings, and adherence to behavioral values of competitiveness, coachability, and commitment.

Selection to the NDS is based on evaluations by Tennis Australia, along with recommendations from Tennis Australia coaches and private coaches. The National Development Squad integrates strength & conditioning and movement sessions into each session. Match play opportunities are also highly valued and incorporated where possible to create more competitive opportunities for program participants.

NDS are to be used as a support to current training programs, not to replace an athlete’s current sessions with their private coach.
