Jarmila Gajdosova has again come back from a perilous position to continue her run in Madrid.
The 24-year-old Australian joined Sam Stosur in the third round following her 3-6 6-3 6-3 win over 11th-ranked Agnieszka Radwanska.

After splitting the first two sets, Radwanska opened up a commanding 3-0 lead in the deciding set and looked destined for the third round but Gajdosova wasn’t ready to give up.

The Australian took control, winning 23 of the next 30 points as she reeled off six consecutive games.

“I’ve been fighting as much as I can this week, even when I was down in both matches,” Gajdosova said. “I like the courts. They’re a little bit faster with the altitude and my game seems to be working. I will try my best in the next round.”

Gajdososova, the world No.31, will face either No.7 seed Jelena Jankovic or Lucie Safarova, who play their second round match Wednesday. Gajdosova is 0-4 lifetime against Jankovic and 2-2 lifetime against Safarova.

Either way, Gajdosova is ready to continue the fight.

“I’ve been getting better at it as I’ve gotten older. I don’t have any specific strategies but everything usually comes with age and experience. I’ve done it the last few matches and I’ll keep trying to fight whenever I’m down.”
