Australians Casey Dellacqua and Jarmila Gajdosova will face off in the French Open mixed doubles semifinals as the second Grand Slam tournament of the year closes in on finals weekend.

Dellacqua and American partner Scott Lipsky will face unseeded pair Gajdosova and her Brazilian partner Tomaz Bellucci for a spot in the final.

Gajdosova and Bellucci knocked out Australia’s Rennae Stubbs and another Brazilian, Marcelo Melo, in the quarters.

In the women’s doubles, Australia’s remaining hope, Anastasia Rodionova, was knocked out in the quarterfinals. Ninth seeds Rodionova and Nadia Petrova were defeated by the third-seeded duo of Vania King and Yaroslava Shvedova, 7-5 3-6 6-2.

It was also a tough day for Australia’s juniors as our remaining boy and girl both fell in the second round. French junior Laurent Lokoli defeated Ben Wagland 6-4 6-2, while Anett Kontaveit was too strong for 15-year-old Queenslander Ash Barty 7-6(5) 6-2.
