Australian juniors Luke Saville and Jason Kubler remain in contention to win the Wimbledon junior boys’ singles title.
Kubler is through to third round of the boys’ singles at Wimbledon after beating fourth seed Oliver Golding.
Brisbane-based Kubler, 18, on Tuesday accounted for British Golding 7-6(7) 6-2.
For Kubler, the former world No.9 junior who has battled knee problems, the win is a return to form.
He, 16th seed Luke Saville and AIS Pro Tour Program member Sean Berman are the only Australians remaining in the boys’ draw after compatriots Ben Wagland and Andrew Whittington both bowed out in their second-round matches on Tuesday.
Saville will play Russia’s Evgeny Karlovskiy, while Berman takes on 10th seed George Morgan in the second round.
Kubler, who is able to compete as a junior because of his May birth date, next faces Marcos Giron from the USA.
In the girls’ singles, sole Australian entrant and 12th seed Ashleigh Barty plays German Katharina Lehnert in the second round on Wednesday.
