Naiktha Bains wins third junior ITF title
Thirteen-year-old Queenslander Naiktha Bains has won her third consecutive Junior ITF title, defeating 16-year-old and No.2 seed Danielle Wagland (NSW) 6-4 6-2 in the final at the Gosford Junior International yesterday.

Thirteen-year-old Queenslander Naiktha Bains has won her third consecutive Junior ITF title, defeating 16-year-old and No.2 seed Danielle Wagland (NSW) 6-4 6-2 in the final at the Gosford Junior International yesterday.
In the boys’ singles fifth seeded Victorian Jacob Grills shook off last week’s disappointing finals performance in Sydney to take out his first Junior ITF title. He won 6-2 6-3 over No.6 seed Matthew Tanza (NSW).
Jacob made it a double victory in Gosford, teaming with fellow Victorian, Daniel Guccione to win the doubles title over No.5 seeds, Jonathan Bejar (Qld) and Alex Hunt (NZL) 6-3 6-3. In a thrilling girls’ doubles final the No.8 seeds, Ellen Perez (NSW) and Stephanie Yamada (NSW) defeated last week’s winners, Libby Scott (NZL) and Heidi Stewart (NZL) 6-4 1-6 11-9.
