Sam Stosur and Lleyton Hewitt were the first mixed doubles team to advance to the quarterfinals at the London 2012 Olympics after defeating fourth seeds Agnieszka Radwanska and Marcin Matkovski of Poland.
The Australian duo controlled the match on Court 14 to win 6-3 6-3.
They polished off victory in 59 minutes thanks to four service breaks, 22 winners and 10 volley winners, twice as many as their opponents.
The win gives Stosur her first at the London Olympics following first round defeats in women’s singles and doubles.
It also helps Hewitt somewhat erase the disappointment of losing his third round men’s singles match to Novak Djokovic earlier on Wednesday.
The Australians were a wildcard entry into the event – known officially as an ITF place – and are so far making the most of their opportunity.
Their next opponents will be the winner of the match between Brits Laura Robson and Andy Murray, and Lucie Hradecka and Radek Stepanek of the Czech Republic.
