Casey Dellacqua has won her third straight match at the Texas Tennis Open in Dallas, brushing aside Irina-Camelia Begu in straight sets in the opening round.
Having notched up two wins in the qualifying draw, Dellacqua was in impressive form against the world No.84, winning 6-2 6-2 in just 50 minutes.
The quality of tennis wasn’t the highest – the two women combined for 16 double faults (and just one ace).
But when Dellacqua landed her serve, she was dominant, winning 82 per cent of points on her first delivery.
She also broke serve on five occasions to set up a second round meeting with fourth seed Yanina Wickmayer of Belgium.
Wickmayer beat Great Britain’s Heather Watson 6-3 6-4 in the opening round.
