Bernard Tomic’s run through the Monte Carlo Masters doubles draw with Milos Raonic has come to an end at the hands of top seeds Bob and Mike Bryan.
The Australian-Canadian duo had enjoyed a scintillating week in the Mediterranean city, beating eighth seeds Mariusz Fyrstenberg and Marcin Matkowski and then No.3 seeds Robert Lindstedt and Daniel Nestor before falling to the American pairing 6-3 6-3 in the semifinals.
Although Tomic and Raonic combined for five aces to the Bryans’ one, the top seeds were stronger overall on serve, winning a greater percentage of points behind both their first and second deliveries.
The Americans will face Julien Benneteau and Nenad Zimonjic in the doubles final at the ATP Masters 1000 event.
