St Charbel’s College in the Sydney suburb of Punchbowl has skyrocketed up the AO Blitz schools leaderboard and has its eyes set on the top prize.
The school with the most AO Blitz points at the end of the competition will get two MLC Tennis Hot Shots mini-courts installed.
St Charbel’s College primary sports co-ordinator Elise Waser said it was a prize her school would love to win.
“It could mean our tennis program can continue to grow,” she said.
St Charbel’s College joined the National School Partnership Program this year, allowing MLC Tennis Hot Shots to be incorporated in their physical education curriculum.
“It’s been great. The school community has really taken to it and the number of students playing tennis is growing,” she said.
The school was part of an AO Blitz activation last week, which included a special visit from Australian tennis star Jelena Dokic, who spoke to the school’s 600 students during an assembly and joined in on some tennis activities.
