Australian Open doubles wildcards crowned
Xinyun Han, Miki Miyamura, Yuki Bhambri and Michael Venus have been awarded wildcards for Australian Open 2014 after winning the doubles finals at the Asia-Pacific Wildcard Play-off in Shenzhen.

Xinyun Han (CHN) and Miki Miyamura (JPN) are the first players to be awarded wildcards for Australian Open 2014.
In front of a vocal crowd the pair saw off a tough challenge in today’s final beating Hao Chen Tang (CHN) and Zhaxuan Yang (CHN) 4-6 6-4 [10-8].
Both players post match said how excited they were.
“It’s a great opportunity for Asian players to get this wildcard,” commented Tang, who wins her second successive Australian Open doubles wildcard.
A match tiebreak in the third set was required to crown Yuki Bhambri (IND) and Michael Bhambri (NZL) as the victors for the men’s doubles wildcard, defeating Mao-Xin Gong (CHN) and Zhe Li (CHN) 7-6(3) 1-6 [10-5].
Venus is the first player from the New Zealand to play in the Asia-Pacific Australian Open Wildcard Play-off.
Sunday’s singles finals will see third seed Risa Ozaki (JPN) taking on qualifier Hao Chen Tang (CHN) followed by the all-Chinese men’s final between fourth seed Ze Zhang and third seed Di Wu.
