Junior success continues at Australian Open

The success of Aussies at the junior Australian Open has continued today with four players advancing to the third round of their singles events.
In the boys’ tournament Marc Polmans claimed a massive scalp when he eliminated American fifth seed Michael Mmoh in straight sets. Polmans battled hard to close out the match in a second set which lasted over an hour to win 6-3 7-5.
Bradley Mousley came from a set down to claim victory over Japanese 16th seed Naoki Nakagawa 5-7 7-6 (5) 6-4.
Harry Bourchier (pictured) continued his scintillating start to the tournament with another straight-sets win. Bourchier took just 59 minutes to dispose of Spaniard Jaume Antoni Munar Clar 6-3 6-4.
In the girls’ event, Kimberly Birrell fought out a tough three-set match en route to defeating her Ukrainian opponent, Anhelina Kalinina 2-6 6-4 6-4.
