Marinko Matosevic has moved through to the third round the ATP event at Queen’s Club with a straight-set victory over Slovakia’s Lukas Lacko.

Matosevic came through a tough first set to record a 7-6(3) 6-3 victory in one hour and 11 minutes.

The result sets up a third-round showdown with No.5 seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who on Wednesday overcame Belgian David Goffin.

Matosevic slammed 14 aces en route to victory over Lacko, and won more than 80 per cent of his first serve points in a dominant display on the lawns at Queen’s.

He is yet to drop a set at the event, with his first win an upset victory over ninth seed Marin Cilic.

He remains the last Australian standing after compatriots Lleyton Hewitt and Bernard Tomic fell in the second round earlier on Wednesday.
