Australian Jarmila Gajdosova has continued her impressive comeback from an illness-ravaged 2013 season by winning the $100,000 ITF title in Vancouver, Canada.

Gajdosova, a former world No.25, rallied from 5-3 down in the final set to overcome Ukrainian Lesia Tsurenko 3-6 6-2 7-6(3).

It is her second title of 2014, after she won the $50,000 Nottingham ITF event in June, a victory that saw her awarded a wildcard into the main draw at Wimbledon.

Gajdosova missed six months of competition last year due to mononucleosis, and her ranking dipped as low as 334th in March.

Ranked No.140 heading into the Vancouver event, she is expected to vault to just outside the world’s top 100.

It was a gritty display from the 27-year-old all week; she also recovered from 5-2 third-set deficit and a match point in her semifinal against American Madison Brengle.

The tournament victory takes her win-loss record in 2014 to an impressive 31-16.
