Australian tennis stars Sam Stosur, Bernard Tomic, Casey Dellacqua and Nick Kyrgios have all taken the ice bucket challenge, raising awareness for motor neurone disease.
The viral video sensation, known as the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge, is designed to raise awareness of and funds for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as motor neurone disease.
It was this disease which took the life of Australian pro tennis player and later ATP Executive Chairman & President Brad Drewett, who passed away in May 2013.
People are nominated to take the challenge – either dump a bucket of iced water over their heads, or donate to the ALS charity of their choice.
And expect to see more tennis players taking the challenge – Stosur, Tomic and Kyrgios all named fellow players among their nominees before being dowsed with iced water.
