Australian Olivia Rogowska has been nominated among several up-and-coming female talents as a potential starter in the WTA Rising Stars Exhibition event at the WTA Finals in Singapore.

The event will feature two players from the Asia-Pacific region and two from the rest of the world, battling it out in an exhibition format.

Rogowska, aged 23, is among 11 nominees in the Asia-Pacific region, selected after a banner season during which she has won two $50,000 ITF titles and peaked at a career-high ranking of No.102.

She remains on the cusp of the top 100, at world No.107.

The WTA Finals are the women’s tour’s prestigious season-ending event, featuring the world’s top eight singles players and doubles teams.

To be held for the first time in Singapore in 2014, the event will also feature legends and rising star events in an expanded 10-day tournament on 17-26 October.
