Casey Dellacqua has moved through to the quarterfinals of the WTA Toray Pan Pacific Open with a straight-sets win over Marina Erakovic.

Dellacqua posted a 6-2 6-4 victory over the Kiwi qualifier at the US1,000,000 event in Tokyo, a Premier-level stop on the women’s tour.

The Aussie conjured five aces and saved eight of the 10 break points she faced in the one hour, 24 minute match.

It followed on from her impressive upset victory over 24th-ranked Sabine Lisicki in the opening round, and sends her through to her third WTA quarterfinal of 2014.

Dellacqua will next face Spaniard Garbine Muguruza, who upended fourth seed Jelena Jankovic in straight sets.

Meanwhile, fellow Aussies Jarmila Gajdosova and Daria Gavrilova – both qualifiers into the main draw – were unable to join Dellacqua in the last eight.

Gavrilova fell 7-6(5) 6-3 to Carla Suarez Navarro of Spain, while Gajdosova pushed second seed Caroline Wozniacki for more than two hours before going down 4-6 7-5 6-3.
