Each day we’ll be featuring a player who is one to watch throughout the December Showdown and into the Australian summer. Today it’s Marc Polmans, the second seed in the boys’ 18/u Australian Championships.
A tenacious competitor, Marc Polmans’ commitment to training sets a great example to his fellow junior athletes.
It also positions him for the best possible chance of success, and this is already starting to come; the South African-born Aussie contested all four junior Grand Slams in 2014 – advancing to the third round at Melbourne Park – and also played several Futures events at professional level.
This week the 17-year-old Victorian is in action in the boys’ 18/u Australian Championships, the highest-seeded player in Group B and looking for a strong showing in the round robin stage of the event to progress to the knockout quarterfinals.
