Third-seeded Samantha Stosur has advanced to the quarterfinals of the Strasbourg International with a walkover after Ukrainian opponent Lesia Tsurenko withdrew with a back injury.

The Australian, a former finalist at the French Open, will next play Croatian-born Ajla Tomljanovic, who defeated American Shelby Rogers 7-6 (6) 3-6 6-2.

Each player is coached by David Taylor, former Australian Fed Cup captain. They are yet to meet in any WTA events.
