28 May 2015 | Tennis Australia

Tennis Australia has a new social media superstar. With a presence on Twitter, Instagram and a newly-made Facebook page, Daria Gavrilova has now taken over the WTA Rising Star video blog.

We’d love to know though, Daria, will these make an appearance in your next video?

Following in Dasha’s footsteps is Jarmila Gajdosova, who continues to run her own Twitter Q&As #AskJarka

Now, social media never sleeps. Tennis practice on the other hand, well… #priorities

Another social media phenomenon is wheelchair tennis champion Dylan Alcott. Following his inspirational TEDxTalk in Sydney, the tweets came flooding in.

And so did a well-deserved standing ovation.

Another significant event this week was a little contest called Eurovision, in which Australia competed for the first time.

Strange, right?

We’re pretty sure Guy Sebastian did you proud, Lleyton.

Here at Tennis Australia we love celebrating birthdays and Omar Jasika was certainly feeling the birthday love.

And as Thanasi Kokkinakis’ birthday was last month, we know this couldn’t have been a birthday gift. But anything with ‘The Kokk’ embroidered on it is a pretty good gift nonetheless.

Storm Sanders’ birthday is in August, but why not?

In the lead-up to the French Open some of our top players really hit their straps, particularly 2010 French Open finalist Sam Stosur.

Speaking of Roland Garros, what a few days it’s been so far at #RG15. When Thanasi wasn’t winning he was being snapped at the Babolat Selfie Zone.

In addition to starring once again on Kids Day, Nick Kyrgios was keen to get the RG show on the road.

Unfortunately Casey Dellacqua came up against compatriot Ajla Tomljanovic in the first round.

While Jarmila Gajdosova and Sam Groth also made an early exit.

And John Peers has returned to Roland Garros with doubles partner Jamie Murray to continue their strong form this season.

So, what do tennis players do when they’re not playing tennis?

PlayStation, FIFA and AFL of course.

Finally it wouldn’t be a Social Serve without an obligatory Instagram #selfie. This week’s winner: Ajla Tomljanovic
