John Millman has retired from his first-round match at the Toronto Masters when trailing American opponent Jared Donaldson.
Millman was down 6-4 4-3 when he pulled out of the match – which was poised at the 68-minute mark – citing a left wrist injury.
The Queenslander joins Nick Kyrgios on the sidelines, yet fellow Aussie Bernard Tomic remains alive in the draw.
Tomic, seeded 12th, takes on Canadian wildcard Steven Diez.
At the concurrent Canadian women’s event in Montreal, Daria Gavrilova will face No.5 seed Simona Halep on Centre Court later on Wednesday morning (AEST).
