Australian tennis player John Millman says he got goosebumps as he and his compatriots waited to enter the stadium for the Olympics opening ceremony.
Australia’s Olympians were greeted with a rousing reception, as the two-time gold medallist Anna Meares led the team into the stadium, carrying the flag.
Millman says playing on Wimbledon’s centre court last month was a lifelong dream, but marching at the Olympic opening ceremony topped it.
The Queenslander was joined by fellow tennis players Thanasi Kokkinakis, Jordan Thompson, Sam Groth, John Peers, Chris Guccione, Sam Stosur, Daria Gavrilova, and Anastasia and Arina Rodionova.
