Stosur confirmed in Zhuhai field
Sam Stosur has qualified for the WTA Elite Trophy in Zhuhai, the season-ending event to be staged in China on 1-6 November.

Sam Stosur is among the 12-player field at the WTA Elite Trophy Zhuhai.
The tournament is open to the highest-ranked 11 players – plus one wildcard – who did not qualify for the WTA Finals in Singapore.
Stosur and Petra Kvitova are the two Grand Slam champions in the field and are joined by Johanna Konta, Carla Suarez Navarro, Elina Svitolina, Roberta Vinci, Timea Bacsinszky, Elina Vesnina, Barbora Strycova, Kiki Bertens, Caroline Garcia and wildcard Zhang Shuai.
Victoria Azarenka, defending champion Venus Williams and Caroline Wozniacki qualified by ranking for the event, but will not participate.
Stosur, ranked 20th, enjoyed a stellar claycourt season in which she reached the semifinals at Roland Garros and Madrid as well as the final at the International-level event in Prague.
In 2016 she also reached quarterfinals in Sydney, Strasbourg and Washington DC.
