Purcell, just 18, became the second-youngest Challenger champion in 16 years when he won the title in Gimcheon, Korea in July.

He has improved his ranking by more than 1,000 places in 2016.

The 22-year-old O’Connell’s victory in Blacktown was his fifth ITF Futures title of 2016 and pushed him into 12th place in the Australian rankings.
