Stosur's Miami Open run ends with a three-set loss to world No.5 Simona Halep

Sam Stosur’s best WTA tournament performance so far this year has ended with a three-set loss to world No.5 Simona Halep in Miami.
Stosur broke the Romanian third-seed twice to win the first set of their fourth round clash at the Miami Open, before charging to within a point of an upset victory with a 5-3 lead in the second.

But Halep rallied to take the next seven games before running away a 4-6 7-5 6-2 winner over the No.19-ranked Stosur.

Stosur’s next scheduled event is the Volvo Car Open in Charleston, USA beginning 3 April.
