Sam Stosur looks likely to miss Wimbledon as the full extent of her hand injury sustained at Roland Garros has been revealed.
As reported in The Herald Sun, Stosur returned home after her injury-affected fourth-round loss to Jelena Ostapenko in Paris and was found to have a stress fracture in her right hand.
She has withdrawn from Eastbourne and will most likely miss Wimbledon.
Gutwrenching for Stosur. Was flying at up 4-0 in 13 minutes v Ostapenko @rolandgarros before succumbing to injury.
Now out of Wimbledon.

The injury was thought to be a muscle-related one between her second and third fingers, only for scans to show more serious damage.
Missing Wimbledon would see Stosur’s impressive uninterrupted run of 37 major tournaments come to an end.
