Astra Sharma sits on the brink of the Australian top 10 after rising 53 places in the latest WTA rankings.
The West Australian vaulted to world No.257 after the points from her victory at the $25,000 ITF tournament in Gatineau, Canada two weeks ago were included in her ranking. Last week she also reached the second round at the $60,000 event in Granby, Canada.
Sharma, 22, owns an impressive 20-6 win-loss record in 2018 and in just over four weeks has improved her ranking from No.409 to its current mark – a career-high.
