San Jose: Tomljanovic cruises into second round
Ajla Tomljanovic will take on Madison Keys for the second time in a month after winning her first-round match at the inaugural WTA tournament in San Jose.

Ajla Tomljanovic has defeated Georgina Garcia Perez in just 71 minutes in the first round of the WTA’s Silicon Valley Classic.
The Australian world No.64 was too strong for her Spanish opponent, recording a 6-4 6-1 victory at the inaugural edition of the San Jose event.

The tournament has taken the place of the long-running Stanford event on the WTA calendar, which was also played on hard courts just half an hour away.
Tomljanovic will meet American second seed Madison Keys in the second round.
The last time the two friends met was in the first round of Wimbledon earlier this month; Keys won 6-4 6-2.
