Australian third seed Jordan Thompson has narrowly missed out on booking a place in the final of Turkey’s ATP Antalya Open.
Thompson, among a strong Australian contingent poised to contest Wimbledon next week, lost 6-7(5) 7-6(5) 7-6(1) to 19-year-old Miomir Kecmanovic of Serbia in two hours, 51 minutes on Friday.
Just two weeks ago, Thompson lost to Frenchman Adrian Mannarino in the final of the grasscourt Libema Open in the Netherlands.
He will now prepare to face compatriot Nick Kyrgios in a mouthwatering first-round showdown at Wimbledon.
On Thursday, fellow Australian Bernard Tomic missed out on a last-four berth at the Turkish grasscourt tournament, losing in three tight sets to Pablo Carreno Busta.
