Ash Barty stands just one victory away from defending her US Open women’s doubles crown after advancing to the 2019 final with Victoria Azarenka.
Barty and Azarenka, seeded eighth, crushed Viktoria Kuzmova and Aliaksandra Sasnovich 6-0 6-1 in 56 minutes at Louis Armstrong Stadium on Thursday.

It’s their second 6-0 6-1 victory this tournament, after handing down an identical drubbing of young American pairing Coco Gauff and Caty McNally.
Their opponents in the final are yet to be determined; they will face either Belgian-Belarusian No.4 seeds Elise Mertens and Aryna Sabalenka, or American duo Vania King and Caroline Dolehide.
“The best part of this fortnight is Vika and I have played some really good tennis at times and it’s only going to help our singles as well,” Barty said.
“I feel like I’m in a great place off the court and enjoying myself on the court.”
Barty won the title in New York last year with Coco Vandeweghe.
This year, as Vandeweghe was sidelined with injury, Barty teamed with Azarenka and the pair have enjoyed a fruitful partnership, improving their win-loss record to 22-6 with their US Open semifinal win.
Earlier in the year, they won the title in Rome and reached semifinals in Miami and Toronto.
