Australians Alex de Minaur and Alexei Popyrin will play at this week’s Swiss Indoors, an ATP 500-level event in Basel, Switzerland.
The tournament is headlined by top seed Roger Federer and No.2 seed Alexander Zverev, whom De Minaur could play in the second round.
But first, De Minaur must get past Bolivian qualifier Hugo Dellien — this will be their first meeting — as Zverev tackles Taylor Fritz in the opening round.
De Minaur arrives at the event in strong form, having won 14 of his past 20 matches dating back to late July.
Also enjoying good recent results is Popyrin, who beat Joao Sousa and Soon Woo Kwon in qualifying to reach the main draw, where he will meet fifth seed Fabio Fognini.
Basel marks the 10th tournament this year at which Popyrin has won through the qualifying rounds to enter the main draw.
It is also the event at which Popyrin won his first ever tour-level match; in 2018 he beat countryman Matt Ebden before going down to Zverev.
