Australia’s Alex de Minaur is through to the quarterfinals in Basel.
The world No.28 posted a 6-3 6-3 win over American Taylor Fritz, needing only 75 minutes to defeat the world No.31 in the second round.
It is De Minaur’s second victory over Fritz this season, having also defeated him in the Atlanta final in July.
“I felt like I played a very complete match. I had a game plan and was able to stick to it. I’ve been working on just trying to keep that high level,” De Minaur told ATPTour.com.
“This is a tournament I’m really enjoying. Everything is easy and all the people are so nice, so it’s just a joy to play here.”
