Kendall Tennis Club has officially unveiled three new plexipave courts and a revamped Clubhouse in a special ceremony over the weekend.

With Australian great John Fitzgerald, winner of all four Grand Slam doubles titles in town to help out, Club President Wendy Hudson officially declared the $685,000 upgrade open.

After extensive, long term fundraising efforts and leveraged partnerships, the Club was able to undertake the development of the new courts to complement their existing three synthetic grass courts, significantly improving their ability to service their more than 300 members.

Funding partners in the project include Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, NSW Office for Sport and Recreation, Tennis Australia and local members.

Kendall, one of the most active Clubs in NSW, was also celebrating their 2014 AO Blitz win over the weekend, with the Australian Open trophies in town to give the event some added prestige.

Port Macquarie-Hastings Mayor Peter Besseling, Port Macquarie MP Leslie Williams and Tennis NSW Vice President Wayne Pascoe were all present for the opening, with Pascoe also having the honour of presenting Hudson with her Sport NSW Community Sport Administrator of the Year award won on Friday evening.

Congratulations to Kendall Tennis Club on the opening and putting on a fantastic event.
