The Australian Clay Court Championships were held in Canberra this week, with NSW players claiming five titles.
Anastasia Berezov claimed her second national title of the year, winning the 12/U girls singles to add to her grasscourt championship from earlier in the year.
Berezov beat South Australian Charlotte Kempenaers-Pocz 6-4 6-1. She then added the doubles title, teaming up with WA’s Lauren Nikoliski to defeat Kempenaers-Pocz and NSW’s Catherine Aulia 6-2 6-2.
In the 14/U Girls singles, Zara Brankovic won a tight final over No. 2 seed Annerly Poulos, 6-7(3) 6-1 7-6(2). Brankovic was also the runner-up in the doubles with Caitlyn Portela, going down 6-0 6-2 to Krystal Clarke (NSW) and Natasha Russell (SA).
NSW’s Taj Hibbert took out the 12/U Boys doubles title with WA’s Ryan McConkey, beating Alec Braund and Owen Yu-Hao Lin 6-3 4-6 [10-7].
