NSW Tennis Country through its six relevant Regional Matchplay Committee’s, in partnership with Tennis NSW, will administer their own Regional Open Development Days, Regional Development Squad and Bluewall High Performance Squad in the launch of the Regional Player Development Pathway program.
The Regional Player Development Pathway program is designed to complement private coaching and is tailored for regional players to help each player achieve their own potential without the need to travel great distances or travel into Sydney on a regular basis for development opportunities.
There are three stages to the Regional Player Development Program:
Regional Open Development Day
This program is designed for both junior players beginning their journey into Competitive Play, and semi-established players already commencing their journey into competitive tennis.
There will be a minimum of three Regional Open Development Days per calendar year. These will be held in Terms 1, 2 and 3 on a Saturday for four hours.
The Regional Open Development Day will be open to players 11-18 years old.
Dates for the Regional Open Development Days:
- Northumberland – 27 August
- Central West – 13 August
- South East- 20 August
- South West – 27 August

Regional Development Squad
This program is designed for junior players who regularly participate in Regional Matchplay Series, Tennis Country Series and Junior Events.
There will be a minimum of three Regional Development Squads per calendar year, held in Terms 1, 2 and 3 on a Saturday for four hours.
Each Regional Matchplay Committee will select up to 24 players to be invited into the Regional Development Squad each term between the ages of 11 and 17.
COST: $50.00
Bluewall High Performance Squad
This program is designed for junior players who regularly compete in events such as Roche Series, Tennis Country Series, National Events, Premier and Signature events, and ITF Junior events.
There will be a minimum of two Bluewall High Performance Squads per calendar year, with training held in Terms 1 and 3 across a weekend. The squad camps will be held at the state tennis centre in Sydney Olympic Park.
In addition, each Regional Committee will develop additional components to this program, specific to their region and tailored towards each individual player to help and contribute to their development.
Each Regional Matchplay Committee will select up to 12 players to be invited into the Bluewall High Performance Squad, on an annual basis.
